A follow-up reflection will allow the participants to try out something they learned and reflect on how effective it was in their own setting. This will complete the 10 hours for the 1 CEU.●Explore the principles of the multisensory approach and the rationale (evidence basis) for its effectiveness.●Review the components of effective literacy instruction with a focus on the multisensory aspect. Five Components of Effective Reading Instruction (Phonemic Awareness, Phonics – reading and spelling, Fluency, Vocabulary, and Comprehension) are basis for each part of the seminar and activities address each.●Use, practice, and apply multisensory strategies and tools to a variety of components of a literacy lesson at various levels from phonemic awareness to summary writing for comprehension. ●Add new multisensory tools to your classroom toolbox that can be used in one-on-one, a small group, or a whole class.
