Description: This hands-on, interactive workshop focuses on strategies for developing struggling students' writing skills, beginning with an overview of the writing research, and the impact of handwriting and spelling. Participants will then focus on parts of speech and sentences as they apply to origin, the components of a good lesson, and strategies for developing sentence sense in student writers. Participants will examine effective structures for longer essays, discuss proofreading and editing, and look specifically at narrative, informative, and argument writing.
