Leadership
ALTA-PA is made up of therapists and practitioners dedicated to providing rigorous evidence-based multisensory structured language education (MSLE) therapy to individuals with dyslexia. Meet the leadership team.

Marilyn Mathis, CALT-QI
President
Marilyn received a BA in Speech Pathology, M.Ed. in Special Education from the University of AR, and CALT-QI Training in Alphabetic Phonics from SW Academy. She had a private practice providing Academic Language Therapy to children and adults for 10 years. In 1998, Marilyn later became the Director of Children’s Dyslexia Center where held the position for 22 years. She formerly served as president of the Academic Language Therapy Association and the Alliance for Accreditation and Certification. Marilyn is a member of the advisory committee for the PA Dyslexia Pilot for Early Intervention and helped to oversee the IMSLEC teacher training and practicum in 8 PA school districts. She is currently the President of the ALTA PA Chapter and is the Instructor of Record for Kings College Master’s programs in partnership with IMSLEC and ALTA. Marilyn is the author of Guided Discovery Teaching of New Material- A Teachers Guide for OG Multisensory Instruction and the accompanying Concept Cards, Letter Decks, and Sound Decks.
